New Necklace Set by Pinara Design for Iznik Tile Collection
Here is my New Necklace Set for Iznik Tile Collection !!!
I design this lovely necklace set especialy for bridemaids. Aren't they Excelent Accessories for Bridesmaids ?
The crochet motifs that I made for this lovely set are inspired from Hatayi tile motifs of Sultan Ahmed Mosque at Istanbul. Hatayi is one of the main motifs of Tezhip (Illumination). Hatayi is a stylized pattern known as “Chinese Turkestan” origin, vertical and horizontal cross-section view of the flowers. Hatayi motifs have been applied on utensils and architectural tiles ceramics at the middle of the 16 century at Iznik. The most brilliant period of Ottoman Tile art was between 15. - 18. Centuries at Iznik. The most important feature of Iznik tiles are under-glaze decoration technique and coral red color.
The Sultan Ahmed Mosque is an historical mosque in Istanbul. The mosque is popularly known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior.

Some photos from research trip at Istanbul
Last week I took a research trip to Istanbul. I visited a lot of beautiful places of my beautiful city Istanbul.
The building was erected in 1880 and is considered the largest Greek Orthodox shrine in Istanbul today. It is still in use by the Greek community of Istanbul. It has about 150 parishioners.
Its construction, based on the designs of the Ottoman Greek architect P. Kampanaki, began on 13 August 1876 and was completed on 14 September 1880. The Church is built in neo-baroque style with elements of Basilica, with the unusual features of twin bell towers, a large dome and a neo-gothic facade.
The Church is located in Istanbul, in the district of Beyoğlu, in the neighborhood of Katip Çelebi, on Meşelik Street, near Taksim Square.
It was a great nostalgia. This week I will try to share my trip photos with some infos. But don't expect great photos. Because my hubby couldn't come with me and I am really nt good about taking photos :)
Let's begin ...
If one day your way fall to Istanbul, Taksim & Beyoğlu is one of the places you should see. Istanbul has many hearts for visit and Taksim is one of them. Take a walk through Istiklal Street... I promise that you will be tired of looking up all historical building on the way.
And yes ... One of my stop was Taksim. This time I wanted to see different angle of Taksim, so I took a trip on little streets of Beyoğlu.
